A car ended up embedded in a tree after a motorist lost control of their vehicle in Ash Tree Lane, Chatham, this morning.

A car ended up embedded in a tree after a motorist lost control of their vehicle on a road in Chatham this morning.

Firefighters from Medway fire station were call out to Ash Tree Lane, at about 6am after reports smoke was coming from the vehicle.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the car didn’t catch alight and they had helped clear up a fuel spill at the scene.

It is not known at this stage if the driver was injured.

A police spokeswoman added: "We were called at 5.35am following a report that a car had left the road and collided with a tree in Ash Tree Lane, Chatham."
