Emergency services called to car fire on M2

A car caught alight on the M2.

Firefighters tacked the blaze after the vehicle was engulfed in flames near the junction for Blue Bell Hill.

Crews were called at 2:45pm to the incident between junction 3 and 4, coastbound.

One engine was at the scene initially before an additional two were called to attend.

The sliproad for junction 3 was shut, but has since reopened.

Spokesman for the police, Lucy Hurdle, said: "Officers are currently at the scene with Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

"No injuries have been reported."

One ambulance was also called to the fire.
