Trial of Leonie Granger from Gillingham accused of murdering Mehmet Hassan in Islington, London is postponed

The trial of a Gillingham woman accused of murdering a father-of-three has been postponed.

Health care assistant Leonie Granger, of Balmoral Road, is charged with killing Mehmet Hassan at his London home last year.

Mr Hassan’s body was found on March 24, at a property in Baxter Road, Islington, after his daughter contacted the police. The 56-year-old was living on his own.

A post mortem gave the cause of death as neck and chest injuries.

The trial was due to start at the Old Bailey on Tuesday but because of jury issues it is now due to begin on Tuesday, February 17.

Granger, 25, who went to the former Upbury Manor school, has admitted conspiracy to rob, but denies murder and false imprisonment.

Nicholas Chandler, 28, of Bow, East London, and Kyrron Jackson, 27, of Lewisham, South
East London, have denied murder, conspiracy to rob and robbery.
