CCTV images could hold clues to final movements of Harjit Chaggar, found in basement of Sani Globe food store in Chatham

Detectives investigating the murder of Medway pensioner are hoping these pictures will attract potential witnesses to come forward.

Police have released four CCTV images of people they would like to speak to as part of their investigations into the death of 69-year-old Harjit Chaggar.

Mrs Chaggar’s body was found in the basement of the Sani Globe food store in Luton Road, Chatham, on Saturday, September 14.

The pensioner, who lived in nearby Hillside Terrace, Chatham, last seen near the Luton Arches and Magpie Hall Road, area at about 4pm on Monday, September 2.

Abdul Hannan, 44, and Murshed Miah, 38, both of Maidstone, and Mohammed Liaket Islam, 28, from Gillingham, have been charged with her murder.

A fourth man, aged 27, from Chatham who was also arrested has been bailed pending further enquiries.

A police spokesman said: “It is understood several people were in the area, particularly in Magpie Hall Road, Chatham, when Harjit Chaggar was last seen and officers are keen to speak to those people captured by CCTV.”
