Chatham travel to Potters Bar on Saturday for the first of three successive away trips.

A visit to the Ryman League Division 1 North’s fifth-placed side is followed by a Tuesday night game at Needham Market and a match at AFC Sudbury next weekend.

But the run of fixtures away from Maidstone Road is of little concern to boss Kevin Watson (pictured).

He said: "We are capable of winning games home or away and so we’re not too bothered about travelling. You have to play these games sooner or later."

Watson plans to field an, as yet, unnamed new signing brought in on a short-term deal. The player has been waiting a fortnight to make his debut but the poor weather has kept Chats out of action.

Last weekend’s trip to Witham Town fell victim to the snow and Watson’s side haven’t played since the 5-1 defeat at Aveley on January 12. That followed a mini upturn in form where Chats beat Ware 3-0 and Romford 5-0.

Potters Bar are chasing promotion but Watson is confident his side can hold their own. He said: "It will be a difficult game but we’ll go there in confident mood. We have done well against some good teams this season but we do need to pick up more points than we have been doing."

Matt Newman (suspension) and Brad Potter (foot) will miss the game.
