Missing: Concern grows for Nigel Knight who went missing after supermarket trip

The coastguard's search and rescue helicopter has joined the search for a 63-year-old man who went missing after a supermarket trip in Medway.

Nigel Knight had been shopping with his family at Morrisons in Knight Road, Strood, at around 8pm on Monday when he went missing.

The police helicopter was scrambled last night to help officers on the ground in the search and today the coastguard helicopter has been seen flying over Strood.

Yesterday Coastguard teams were out until 3am searching.

Nigel, who is from the Rochester area, is white, around 5ft 7ins tall, thin, with dark, greying hair.

He was wearing a mauve sweatshirt and navy track suit bottoms with white stripes when he was last seen.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Kent Police on 101 quoting reference 09*1319.
