A crash involving a car and a lorry blocked at least one lane on the M2 this evening.

The incident happened on the outside lane of the coastbound carriageway near the turnoff for Chatham and Rochester around 5pm.

Originally the accident was reported to involve two cars, a van and a lorry, but police say just one car and a lorry collided.

No one is thought to have been seriously injured.

Police used a rolling road block while the carriageway was cleared.

All lanes opened by 6.30pm.
