Crews say the blaze started after a woman accidentally left a plastic child's seat on a cooker hob, which was still turned on.

The blaze only caused damage to some kitchen units and appliances, and firefighters used a fan to clear smoke from the building.

Kent Fire and Rescue advise not to put anything plastic on a hob, to get out of the house immediately in the event of fire, and to only turn the hob off if it is safe to do so.
