Friendly Phil's at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre evacuated after fire

A newly refurbished restaurant at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre had to be evacuated after a fire broke out on Tuesday.

Firefighters were called to Friendly Phil’s diner at around 5pm after a blaze started in an electrical cupboard.

Nobody was injured and customers were able to return to the building.

The blaze is thought to have been caused by an electrical fault.
