Rochester teen and Chatham man arrested after Kent Police seize suspected stolen items

Police are appealing for information after a haul of suspected stolen goods was seized.

Officers received information that there were suspicious items at an address in Kings Road, Chatham on Thursday. Patrols attended and seized a number of items.

A 16-year-old boy Rochester and a 22-year-old man from Chatham have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and bailed pending further enquiries until October 23.

Officers are now asking residents, particularly those in the Beacon Hill area, to check their properties, particularly their vehicles and outbuildings, to see whether any of their belongings might have been stolen.

Items recovered include:

  • A green canvas Nash H-Gun holdall, containing fishing equipment.
  • A number of stereo fascias, including three Sony models, one LG model, a JVC model and a Pioneer model
  • A quantity of CDs, including Ministry of Sound, Neil Diamond, Dire Straits and Nat King Cole
  • A pair of Bloc sunglasses
  • A bottle of Juicy perfume
  • A black Fila messenger bag containing a CD

Investigating officer, PC Andy Painter, said: "I believe these items may have been stolen overnight on September 17 and I am keen to reunite them with their rightful owners.

"I'd ask residents to carefully check their property and, if they believe we may be in possession of their belongings, contact me on 07581 006099 quoting incident reference 18-0666."
