The Man from U.N.C.L.E. starring Henry Cavill and Hugh Grant filmed at Chatham's Historic Dockyard

The backdrop for director Guy Ritchie’s new film The Man from U.N.C.L.E. may look familiar to Kent's eagle-eyed cinema-goers.

It has had mixed reviews so far but film fans in Medway will enjoy spotting the Chatham Historic Dockyard locations used for filming.

Cast and crew spent a week at the venue filming a car-chase sequence.

The film is a remake of the 1960s TV series and revolves around a mysterious organisation’s plan to use nuclear weapons and war technology to disrupt the balance of power between the US and the Soviet Union.

It stars the likes of Henry Cavill and Hugh Grant.

Nigel Crisp, the Historic Dockyard’s estates surveyor and film liaison officer, said he had seen the film and enjoyed it.

“You’ve got to accept it for what it is - a good entertaining Guy Ritchie film,” he added.
