Rochester and Strood general election results

Kelly Tolhurst has been reelected as MP for Rochester and Strood.

Miss Tolhurst received 29,232 votes, almost 10,000 more votes than Labour candidate Teresa Murray.

She said: "Thank you to the police for the hard work they have done over the past week and today for making these elections safe.

"Well done to everyone who has worked really hard.

"I have loved representing the place I love over the past two years."

Turnout in Rochester and Strood was 65.1% meaning 53,840 people, out of 82,702, voted.

In 2015 the turnout was 66.8%.
