A woman has been taken to hospital following a collision between a car and a lorry on the A2 coastbound near Shorne this morning.

The woman had to be cut from the car by firefighters and was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital with neck injuries.

Two other females were in the car but managed to get out themselves.

A spokesman from Kent Police said the injuries were minor.

Emergency services were called to the scene, before the slip road for Gillingham, Grain and Rochester, at 7.50am.

Kent Fire and Rescue were called at 8.15am to cut the roof off the car as the woman was stuck.

Two rescue pumps from Strood and Thameside attended.

Lane one was closed at 8.10am and recovery vehicles were called. The road was clear by 9.50am.
