Gillingham: Matthew and Jade Oram accused of attacking man after death of their dog

A father and daughter have appeared in court after they were charged with causing grievous bodily harm to another man.

Matthew Oram, 45, and his daughter Jade, 19, are the owners of a dog put down after it was allegedly attacked by a man with a samurai sword.

As reported in March, English bull terrier Dave was left with severe injures in Castlemaine Avenue, Gillingham.

In July the Orams were arrested over an alleged attack on Adam Ashurst in nearby Oak Avenue.

The pair appeared before Medway magistrates and were bailed to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday.

After Dave's death, police arrested a 29-year-old on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

However, he was later released without charge.

It is understood Mr Ashurst had to receive specialist medical treatment following the alleged attack.

The case against the Orams was adjourned until September 27.
