Crews called to cafe fire in Canal Road, Strood

Firefighters were called to a derelict cafe in Canal Road, Strood, after a fire broke out in the early hours of this morning.

Four fire engines and a height vehicle were at the scene after being called at 3.25am, and approximately 18 firefighters tackled the blaze in the two-storey building.

They were extinguishing remaining hot spots just before 5am and left the scene at around 5.40am.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
