Firefighters tackle 'dumped' caravan fire on the corner of Symons Avenue and White Road, Chatham

Firefighters tackled a caravan blaze in Chatham last night.

Crews were called to the corner of Symons Avenue and White Road just before 8pm.

The caravan, which was filled with rubbish, is believed to have been dumped, before it caught alight.

Firefighters put out the fire by 8.24pm and spent a further 20 minutes at the scene to make sure it wouldn't catch fire again.

The fire damaged a lamp post and caused around £300 of damage to a fence, belonging to a school.
