Gillingham: Firefighters tackle Garden Street house fire

Fire crews were called to tackle a fire at a house last night.

They were called to Garden Street in Brompton, Gillingham, at 10.15pm, and arrived on the scene minutes later to find black smoke issuing from the building.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire using a hose reel jet, and a covering jet.

The fire was located on the ground floor of the house.

Everyone was accounted for, and firefighters ventilated the property to make the scene safe.
