Firefighters called to mattress fire in Albatross Avenue, Strood, and skip fire in Elmwood Road, Chattenden

Fighters tackled a skip blaze in Chattenden and a mattress fire in Strood last night.

A crew were called to woodland near Albatross Avenue in Strood at 7.20pm after a mattress caught alight.

They were then called to a skip blaze in Elmwood Road in Chattenden at 8pm.

Firefighters were called to Albatross Avenue, Strood, just after 6.45pm.

The fire is thought to have been deliberate and police officers were at the scene when the firefighters arrived.
