Police and fire crews at Chatham Dockside shopping centre after car burst into flames in underground car park

A person has been treated for smoke inhalation after several cars went up in flames near a shopping centre.

Five fire engines are currently at the scene on Dock Head Road, near Chatham Dockside, after the vehicle caught alight in an underground car park.

Police are also in attendance.

A fire service spokesman said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are tackling the blaze with hose reel jets and a main jet.

"The fire involves approximately five vehicles.

"SECAmb was called to the scene to attend to one casualty with smoke inhalation.
