Five injured in two car crash in Gillingham

Five people have been taken to hospital after two cars crashed on the A2 in Gillingham.

Video filmed at the scene shows emergency crews working to free three women and two men after it happened near to the junction with Darland Avenue at around 10.30pm last night.

A man and three women were rescued from one of the vehicles while another man was brought to safety from the other.

Kent Fire and Rescue say all five were passed in to the care of paramedics before being taken to hospital.

Police closed the road near The Star pub while the casualties were brought to safety.

The road re-opened at 1.30am after the wreckage had been cleared.

It's not yet known how serious the injuries are.
