Medway: men suspected of fly-tipping have been made to clear up a pile of rubble

Two men suspected of fly-tipping have been made to clear up a pile of rubbish after being spotted by police.

Officers on patrol in the Cuxton area saw a large amount of rubble being dumped from a Ford Transit tipper van on land off the A228 at lunchtime.

The men were told to clear the site and put the waste back in the vehicle.

The driver has been reported for fly-tipping as well as having no tax, insurance or a valid MOT.

The case will also be passed to Medway Council which has responsibility for dealing with fly-tipping.

Police say anyone who wishes to report an incident of fly-tipping should contact their local council.

If fly-tipping is in progress they can contact police by dialling 999.
