A Gillingham woman has today denied murdering a father-of-three in London.

Leonie Granger, of Balmoral Road, appeared at the Old Bailey charged with killing Mehmet Hassan at his Islington home in March.

The 24-year-old admitted conspiracy to rob, but pleaded not guilty to murder and false imprisonment.

Health care assistant Granger was arrested at an address in Gillingham on March 28.

The former Upbury Manor pupil has been remanded in custody. The trial is expected to begin on February 9 2015 and last six to eight weeks.

Mr Hassan was found on Monday, March 24 after concerned relatives contacted police.

His body was found by police at a property on Baxter Road, Islington, at around 8.40pm after officers forced entry.

His daughter is thought to have contacted the police to express concerns for his welfare. The 56-year-old was living on his own.

A post-mortem exam gave the cause of death as neck and chest injuries. Detectives believe the victim had been assaulted inside the property.

Nicholas Chandler, 28, of Bow, East London, has pleaded not guilty to all three counts.

Kyrron Jackson, 27, of Lewisham, South East London will enter his plea at another hearing on September 9 2014.
