Two suspects have been arrested following reports of men attempting to steal JCBs from a building site in Medway.

Officers carried out a search in Strood, near the Medway Valley Leisure Park, with the help of sniffer dogs and a helicopter.

People reported seeing a large police presence by the riverside from around 9.30pm.

Two men have since been detained and are currently in custody.

Kent Police has been approached for comment.
