Purse stolen from church in Bredhurst

Police investigating the theft of a purse from a church in Bredhurst have re-released a CCTV image of a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The item was stolen from St Peter’s Church in Hurstwood Road between 12.45pm and 1.15pm on Sunday May 13.

A bank card was then used in a number of fraudulent transactions.

Police have conducted numerous inquiries into the incident and are now re-releasing the image and appealing for information to identify the man.

Officers are also seeking to trace a black Vauxhall Corsa seen in the area as the driver may have important information.

A second man whose image was released in the original appeal on June 8 has now been eliminated from the investigation.
