Teens Mark Dallas and Sophie Knowldin in court after toddler allegedly kidnapped in Chatham

Two teens have appeared in court charged with kidnap after a 14-month-old boy was reported missing last month.

If follows the disappearance of the boy on March 7 in Wayfield Road, Chatham.

He was later found safe and well.

Mark Dallas, who hasn't got a permanent address, and Sophie Knowldin, from Leysdown Road in Sheppey, appeared before Medway magistrates yesterday.

They are the second and third people to be charged in connection with the incident after Jason Malloy, 21, of Albany Road in Chatham, was charged on March 18 with child abduction.

Malloy has been remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on June 19.

Dallas has been remanded to appear at the same court on May 16. Knowldin has been released on conditional bail to appear at Maidstone Crown Court, also on May 16.
