Teenager caught running down Rainham street armed with knife

Video footage has emerged of a teenager running down a street in Rainham armed with what appears to be a kitchen knife.

Witnesses said he pulled out the weapon after being attacked by a group of youngsters who were allegedly carrying a baseball bat and a glass bottle.

He is said to have then ran after them brandishing the knife.

It happened in London Road, near the PlayFootball centre, at around 3.15pm.

It comes the latest figures show knife crime in Kent has more than doubled in the past five years.

Police said they have spoken to two teenagers, but no-one has reported injuries.
