Lorry stuck on corner of Reed Street and Church Street in Cliffe

A lorry driver found himself in a jam after his vehicle became stuck between buildings at a tight corner.

The HGV is reported to have become unmovable while trying to turn from Reed Street into Church Street in Cliffe at around 6.30pm on Thursday, June 21.

Police attended the scene where the driver is believed to have struck a building.

A resident who lives nearby says this is not the first time vehicles have got into trouble at the spot.

"The council needs to put up signs stating that the roads are unsuitable for HGV’s", he said.

"It’s not the first or second time this has happened. I don’t know the exact number but I’m sure it’s well over four.

"That part of the village is very very old so it wasn’t designed originally for cars."
