Police have now reopened Best Street, in Chatham, after two vehicle crash

A main road in Chatham was closed in both directions after a crash involving two vehicles.

The emergency services were called out to Best Street at about 1.15pm after the smash between Railway Street and the Royal Mail sorting office.

Police, firefighters and ambulance crews have now left the scene and crews cut one woman out of her car.

Firefighters used their hydraulic equipment to release a woman who was trapped in a car following the smash.

She was passed into the care of SECAmb, but is not thought to be seriously injured.

A spokesman for Police said: “Kent Police was called at 1.17pm following a two-vehicle collision on Best Street, Chatham.

“Officers were sent to scene along with firefighters and ambulance staff."

The road was fully reopened by 3.25pm.
