Man cut free from car after three car crash in Rochester

An elderly man had to be cut out of his vehicle earlier today after a three car crash in central Rochester.

The emergency services were called to Corporation Street at its junction with Blue Boar Lane, at 12.40pm after the three cars collided.

A black Mercedes, a green Vauxhall Astra and a blue VW Bora were involved in the smash which partially closed the road.

Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to free the elderly man from his VW Bora while paramedics treated the occupants of the other vehicles at the scene.

It is not thought anyone was seriously injured. Police said the road would be fully reopened as soon as the vehicles were recovered.
