Kent Police discover body in a car outside The Trafalgar Maid pub in Chatham

The death of a man found in a pub car park is not being treated as suspicious.

Police were called to The Trafalgar Maid in Warner Street, Chatham yesterday, just before 5pm, after a member of the public called 999 to report their concerns about a man in a car.

Officers arrived at the scene to find a 48-year-old man dead inside the vehicle.

The man, who has not been named, is not believed to be from the area and is not thought to have any connection to the pub.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “Kent Police was called at 4.55pm on Monday, May 19, to a report of concern for a man in a car in the area of Jenkins Dale, Chatham.

"A man was found deceased at the scene. His death is currently being treated as non-suspicious. Next of kin has been informed.”
