Man airlifted to hosital after being hit by car on A228 in Hoo

A man has been airlifted to hospital this evening after being hit by a car.

The accident happened on the A228 in Hoo and involved two cars - a blue Renault and a white Ford.

Police were called just after 6pm and Four Elms Hill was closed to allow the air ambulance to land.

An ambulance was also called.

The man suffered chest injuries in the accident and was taken to hospital by air ambulance.

The road has been reopened.
