Like any boy, Luca Serra was excited about his birthday.
But this year it is extra special, today Luca is 12 on the 12th day of the 12th month of the 12th year.
It will be 89 years before a similar scenario will happen again – on 01/01/2101.
Mum Jody Phillips is going making it a day to remember for her Arsenal-loving son.
She has had a cake made in red and white, and inscribed 12/12/12 at the family home in Roman Close, Blue Bell Hill.
She’s invited 12 family and friends to a supper at his favourite restaurant and she is decorating her home with balloons emblazoned with the number 12.
Luca goes to Aylesford Sports College and plays for Borstal-based Real 60. One of his favourite players is Thierry Henry, who wore the No 12 shirt when he came back on loan in 2012.
Jody, 43, said : “It wasn’t until my mum pointed it out a couple of years ago that I realised about the 12/12/12 thing.”
Also celebrating his 12 birthday today is Rivermead school pupil Harry Gaddish.
Harry is being taken out by his parents to his favorite restaurant Manor Farm, in Rainham, this evening and at the weekend, the Batman-mad youngster will also visit London for a trip to Madame Tussauds.
Harry, who lives in the The Crofters in Rainham, is fascinated by the both World Wars and will be going to see the war memorials and if time, will also be visiting a museum.
Harry who was born on 11.56pm on December 12, 2000, has and older sister Lucy, 15, and a younger sister, Ruby, who is seven.
Mum Joanne, said: “He thinks its weird having his birthday on 12/12/12, but he does think it’s kind of funny.”
