Motorists have been suffering delays to their journeys home after a cable came loose in the Medway Tunnel.

The first lane of the westbound carriageway heading towards Strood was closed after police were called to reports a driver had seen something hanging from the ceiling of the tunnel.

Traffic remains slow in both directions as the congestion clears.
