Police appeal for witnesses after a man took money left at an cash machine at The Co-operative Food store, Delce Road, Rochester

Police are searching for a man who stole money from a cash machine after it was left behind by the rightful owner.

The victim withdrew cash from the ATM in the Co-op in Delce Road, Rochester but left without the money.

When the victim returned, the money had gone.

A man was seen taking the money shortly after the victim had left.

He was described as white with grey and black clothing and a dark coloured hat with fur trim.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened between 5.25pm and 5.35pm on Monday, January 2. Details have only just been released.

Officers have released images of a man they want to speak to.
