Motorcyclist Ollie Jennings killed in crash in Chattenden

The death of motorcyclist Ollie Jennings has prompted a flood of online tributes.

Mr Jennings, believed to be from Crayford and aged in his 20s, died in a crash on the A228 Peninsula Way, at the roundabout with Main Road Hoo, shortly after 12.20am last night.

Friends and family took to Facebook to pay tribute to the popular biker, who was described as loyal, lovable and hilarious.

One said he would be remembered for his "booming voice and brilliant laugh", while another posted: "My brother. You always took care of me, always looked out for me. I always wanted to be just like you."

Crayford Gossip Page posted: "Here at CGP, we are shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our friend Ollie Jennings. We would like to send our sincerest condolences to all of his family and friends. You will forever be in our thoughts. Gone but not forgotten, R.I.P our funny, crazy friend xxx."

Mr Jennings has not yet been named by police, who earlier issued an appeal for witnesses to the crash.

Officers believe the biker had been travelling with a pillion passenger when he crashed on the A228 Peninsula Way, at the roundabout with Main Road Hoo, shortly after 12.20am.

The green Suzuki motorcycle was travelling from the direction of High Halstow towards Medway when it smashed into roadside furniture.

The rider passed away at the scene, while the female passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken to a London hospital. Her condition is stable.

Roads leading to the accident scene were closed for several hours while emergency services attended.
