M2 closes after lorry and car crash

A motorway in Kent has reopened after being closed for several hours following a collision between two cars and a lorry in which a woman was injured.

The M2 coastbound at junction 1 approaching Rochester was shut following the accident.

Traffic was being diverted off the M2 and up the A289.

It was then being guided to turn around and travel back down the A289, rejoining the M2 on the Londonbound side at junction 1.

Traffic conditions have returned to normal.

Kent Police were called at 3.33pm and officers attended the scene along with ambulance crews and Kent Fire and Rescue.

The female driver of one of the cars was taken to hospital.
