M2 Cuxton: Lane now clear after crash near Strood turn-off

A lane was blocked and traffic was slow after a three-car crash on the M2 London-bound earlier this morning.

The accident is said to have happened between J2 for the A228 at Rochester and J1 for the A2 at Strood at about 8.15am.

Police and firefighters were called to the scene and traffic built up behind the incident for a short while.

It is understood no one was seriously injured during the crash and the carriageway has now been cleared.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Kent Police was called to a collision on the M2 London-bound at 8.13am on Wednesday 17 May 2017.

"It is reported to have happened in lane three of the carriageway between junctions 2 and 1.

"No injuries have been reported and the motorway is now clear."
