Topes in Rochester reopens as now Smoke & Liquor

One of Medway’s most-established upmarket restaurants has re-opened with a funky new image and a new name.

Topes in Rochester High Street is now Smoke & Liquor, a more casual bar and eatery offering charcoal cooking, fusion bowl and street food.

And judging by the response from customers through the door on its first day, the new venture of Julie and Chris Small is off to a great start.

The couple, who have run Topes for 14 years and have worked in catering in London, wanted to bring something different to the table in the Towns.

No longer do diners have to book a table to be wined and fed all evening.

Smoke & Liquor is far more laid back and you can drop in for a drink and or a light bite.
