Pensioner suffers head injuries after being hit by car in Goudhurst Road, Twydall, Gillingham

A pensioner has suffered serious head injuries after being hit by a car in Twydall.

Police and paramedics were called to Twydall Green, near its junction with Goudhurst Road, at about 10.15am after a woman in her 70s was injured.

Officers are still at the scene and despite suffering serious head injuries, the pensioner's condition is not said to be life-threatening.

A spokesman for police said: "Kent Police was called at 10.16am following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Twydall Green, Gillingham, at the junction with Goudhurst Road.

"Officers are currently at the scene and the pedestrian – a woman in her 70s – is being treated for serious head injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening."
