Police car rammed by suspects wanted for car theft in Strood

Suspected car thieves rammed a police dog patrol car twice before officers pinned a stolen car to the spot.

It comes after police were called to reports of a group of men attempting to break into a car in Brompton Farm Road in Strood, before fleeing the scene in the car.

Officers found the vehicle in the Galleon Way area at around 10.45pm last night.

But the suspects then rammed the dog unit car twice, apparently in a bid to escape.

An officer managed to pin the vehicle, leaving the culprits fleeing the scene.

No arrests have been made, and those in the patrol car, including the police dog, are said to be unhurt.

The incident came just hours before another police car was rammed by suspects.

Two police officers were left with whiplash after a pursuit ended in their car being rammed in Longfield.
