Police helicopter searches for wanted man above Luton Road area of Chatham

Police have made an arrest after the helicopter was scrambled to help with a manhunt this afternoon.

The 26-year-old man from Strood was detained in Chatham this afternoon following the manhunt.

He has been held on suspicion of "breaching a non-molestation order" as well as criminal damage and resisting or obstructing a police constable.

The suspect remains in custody.

The police helicopter was seen hovering over Chatham this afternoon as officers hunted for the wanted man.

The chopper was spotted over the Luton Road area, and witnesses also reported seeing police cars and vans in nearby Castle Street.
