Chatham boy injured by driver who accused him of pouring sticky liquid on his car from Chatham Hill bridge

Police are hunting a driver who injured a 12-year-old boy after accusing him of pouring sticky liquid on his car from a footbridge.

The attack happened on Chatham Hill, Chatham, where a footbridge crosses the carriageway from Windmill Road.

A motorist driving beneath the footbridge shouted at two boys crossing above, claiming they had poured a sticky liquid on his car.

As the boys were leaving the driver pulled over and confronted them, causing minor injuries to the 12-year-old's back and arm.

The attack happened at 4pm on Saturday, August 23.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have information about the incident, in particular, anyone who may have been travelling up Chatham Hill or been in the Windmill Road area at the time.
