A memorial service is to be held for much-loved MidKent College principal Sue McLeod.
Ms McLeod died at Medway Maritime Hospital on July 23, just a month after being diagnosed with a brain tumour, prompting an outpouring of grief and tributes from those who knew her.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, August 28. It will be a private service for family and close friends only.
This will be followed by a public memorial service at Rochester Cathedral, led by the Dean, the Very Rev Dr Mark Beach.
Sue’s partner, Alan and her daughter, Lucy, have said anyone who would like to attend is welcome to join them.
There is no specific dress code and black is not expected. Some are expected to wear tartan to remember Ms McLeod’s Scottish roots.
The service will be followed by a wake at Commissioner’s House at The Historic Dockyard. Chatham.
MidKent College chief executive Stephen Grix said the college has been inundated with cards and messages of condolenc since Ms McLeod’s death.
Ms McLeod, from Chatham, became the first female principal at MidKent last September, after joining the college in 1993.
She had been undergoing treatment at King’s College Hospital in London and had not returned to work after being diagnosed.
Those who would like to attend the service, are asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01634 383194.
Ms McLeod’s family has requested no flowers but if you would like to make a donation to Kings College Hospital, visit www.kcl.ac.uk/kingsanswers/give/donate-index.aspx
