Two car crash on Ash Tree Lane, Chatham, closes the road for more than three hours.

Three people had to be cut free after a two-car crash in Chatham last night.

The emergency services were called to Ash Tree Lane, near the junction with Beacon Road, at around 6.15pm.

Crews from nearby Chatham fire station freed a man and a woman from one car and another man from the other vehicle.

All three were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for treatment but are not thought to have suffered life threatening injuries.

The road was closed for more than three hours while the emergency services dealt with the crash scene.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service, said: "Three appliances were called to the two-car crash.

"There were three casualties with multiple injuries, so it was a difficult job."

A police spokesman confirmed officers were called at 6.12pm and closed the road at about 6.30pm before reopening it at 9.40pm.
