John Paterson, from Strood, denies GBH after 'road rage attack' in the Esplanade, Rochester

A motorcyclist accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm after a cyclist was seriously injured in an alleged road rage attack has denied the charge.

John Paterson entered the plea when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court today. He admitted driving while disqualified.

The 25-year-old, of Frindsbury Road, Strood, will stand trial on February 19 next year.

Julian Webster, from Rochester, suffered life-changing injuries in the incident on the corner of Rochester Esplanade and the High Street at 10am on Sunday, May 28.

Mr Webster, 61, needed emergency surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain after being taken to London’s King’s College Hospital by air ambulance.

Paterson’s bail was continued.
