Police release e-fit after armed robbers made off with a large quantity of cash from the Post Office in Bush Road, Cuxton

Police have released an e-fit of a man they think can help with their investigation into an armed robbery in Cuxton.

Officers were called at 8.13am yesterday to the Post Office counter in Bush Road.

Two men were said to have entered the store and threatened a staff member with what appeared to be a gun, demanding money. They left on foot with a large quantity of cash. The staff member was tied up during the incident and received minor injuries.

The National Police Air Service helicopter was called in during the search of the area yesterday.

Kent Police Chief Inspector Simon Alland said: "This type of offence is very serious, but also rare here in Kent. I'd like to reassure the public that our investigation is ongoing and our experienced detectives will be working hard to bring those responsible to justice."

Both suspects are described as white, around 25 to 30 years old and of medium build, wearing dark clothing. The victim has now assisted police in compiling an e-fit of one of the men, who is described as having dark eyes and stubble. He wore a black woollen hat.

Anyone who recognises the man or who has information about the incident should call police on 101, quoting crime reference number XY/44784/14.
