Police and coastguard search River Medway after reports man may have jumped from M2 motorway bridge

Police will resume their search of the River Medway today for a man who is believed to have jumped from the M2 motorway bridge yesterday.

Officers were called at 10.20am yesterday due to "concerns for the welfare" of a man.

The footpath on the M2 Medway bridge coastbound between J2 and J3 was cordoned off by police until around 1.30pm.
