Police have renewed their appeal for information about a pensioner from Chatham who has been missing for 10 days.

Harjit Chaggar was last seen in the Luton Road area, near Luton Arches, after she left the Kings Family Practice in Magpie Hall Road on September 2.

Detectives revealed earlier today they have now found a CCTV image of Mrs Chaggar, 69, walking past the Maplin Electronics shop at about 3.30pm.

This is the last known sighting of Mrs Chaggar. Despite extensive searches of alleyways, back gardens, sheds and the Great Lines Heritage Park, she has not been seen since.

Mrs Chaggar had been to see her doctor to collect a prescription and then stopped at a shop in Luton Road.

DCI John Coull is leading the investigation. He said: "We've had no further sightings of her. We are stumped as to what has happened to her.

"We are appealing for people who may have been in the area at that time to come forward with information."

Her family said her disappearance is totally out of character.

Her son, Kuldish Chaggar, 46, has renewed his plea for the public to help find his mum.

Speaking from the spot she was last seen, he said: "The last 10 days have been absolutely horrendous, we are fraught with worry and were worried about my mother, we are at our wits end.

"We've spoken to all our family both here and in India and she's not been in touch with them.

"I want to hear from her, we just want our mother back safe and sound. We just need a phone call to tell us where she is.

"Anything that will help, we just want her back. We can't believe she is not here."
