Two car smash on Pattens Lane, Rochester, sees woman taken to hospital and road closed

A woman in her 50s was taken to hospital after the car she was travelling in span round after being hit by another car at a busy junction in Rochester.

The emergency services, including police, firefighters and paramedics, were called out to Pattens Lane, off City Way, at about 4.50pm yesterday after the two car collision.

It is understood the woman was a passenger in a Toyota which turned into Pattens Lane from City Way and struck another car, a Dewooo, which was pulling out of the City Way Surgery car park entrance.

Police closed the road for a short time while they dealt with the incident and firefighters assisted paramedics getting the 59-year-old woman out of the vehicle and into the ambulance.

It is understood the woman was taken to hospital as a precaution.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “Kent Police was called at 4:38pm to a report of a collision involving two cars in Pattens Lane.

Officers closed the road and one woman has been taken to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.”
