Arrest after boy stabbed in fight near Hollywood Bowl in Gillingham High Street

A teenager has been arrested after another boy was stabbed in the shoulder during a fight in Gillingham.

Police were called to the High Street near the Hollywood Bowl at about 5pm yesterday after receiving reports that a fight between a group of youngsters had broken out outside the restaurant.

The injured teenager, thought to be aged 16, was taken to nearby Medway Maritime Hospital with suspected stab wounds to his shoulder.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Officers attended High Street and arrested a 16-year old boy from Gillingham on suspicion of assault. He remains in police custody."
